Leaning Ladder Towel Rack – What to Know Before You Buy

Leaning Ladder Towel Rack with Rustic Wood FinishDo you want a unique way to hang towels in your bathroom without installing a rod or bar? Take a look at this rustic leaning ladder towel rack.

It provides plenty of space to hang your towels, plus it adds industrial, shabby-chic style to the washroom. (Not to mention, you don’t have to drill permanent holes in your wall!)

In fact, this ladder gives more space to hang your towels than a typical towel rack. While at the same time, it doesn’t take up a lot more floor space.

I also like this ladder shelf unit because it’s easy to put together and only weighs about 8 lbs. Therefore, you can easily move it without a lot of effort.

Note: The lighter weight makes this towel rack not as stable and more likely to move around. For instance, I wouldn’t place a glass picture frame on the top shelf. That’s just asking for someone to brush up against it, right?

Should You Make Your Own Ladder Towel Rack Instead?

Leaning Design of Rustic Towel RackAlthough I really like the rustic farmhouse look of this weathered ladder, you could save some money and make one yourself. If you have basic power tools and enjoy sanding and painting, making a ladder shelf could be a fun project for you.

Check out the video below that shows you how to build your own ladder with just 3 pieces of wood.

And, if you want to create that distressed look, you can easily do it with a can of chalk spray paint and a piece of sandpaper. (Who knew you could buy chalk paint in a can?)

How Ladder Shelves Can Save You Money:

Weathered Wood Ladder Towel RackWhether you decide to buy a ladder towel holder or make your own, both options allow you to save time and money.

For example, if you decided to go the traditional towel rod route, you would need to purchase 3-4 bars. (Plus, find space to install them.)

Then, you’d need to take the time to find find studs and drill into your wall to safely secure the brackets. Although this really doesn’t sound like a big deal, a leaning ladder sure does sound easier. =)

Note: Don’t overlook the fact that you can use this leaning ladder to display blankets instead of towels.

Alternatively you can add it to any room as a stand-alone piece of home decor. I mean, it does look pretty cool, right?
